PROPOLIS TINCTURE
Description
A PRODUCT OF THE BEE HIVES OF CRETE
Propolis is a bee product and has a significant anti-biotic, anti-virus and anti-fungus action. It is considered the strongest natural anti-biotic.
The term “propolis” is from Greek propolis (which means “in front of/ outside the town”). Most probably, it has to do with the fact that bees use it in order to reduce the size of the entrance hole to their hive and thus secure it with a sort of wall against intruders.
From various plants, buds and tree barks, the bees collect resins and balms and enrich these substances with their own body-secretions and wax to produce the so-called propolis.
This propolis is used by the bees as a kind of glue, closing cracks in the bee hive to prevent cold and rain to get in. Shortly before oviposition, the bees cover the honeycombs with a very thin layer of propolis and render it germ-free. The entire inside of the box is covered with the same substance in order to function as a door mat and protect the bees from fungi and bacteria. Intruders such as mice, butterflies or other small animals or insects that were killed by the bees, but are too big to be transported out of the box, are literally mummified with propolis.
Propolis is rich in mineral supplements and trace minerals which considerably boost metabolism and cell formation.
Based on these properties, propolis tincture is versatile in its use.

Due to the combined action of alcohol (used as a dissolvent) and propolis, a quick and scar-free healing can be reached.Alternatively, dissolve propolis tincture in water and gargle or drink the mixture. This helps with a sore throat and supports mouth hygiene as it disinfects the mouth and pharynx.
